Chapter Twenty-Two

Blue closed the door behind himself, then moved over to the window adjacent to it and watched with an uneasy feeling rising up from his stomach and into his chest as Roxy drove off into the night. Once her tail lights were out of his sight, he realized much quicker than he ever wanted to that the uneasy feeling hadn't just come from her being out there and alone, but being out there and alone, without him.

That son of a bitch knew he wanted her from the moment he first scanned his eyes across every inch of her smooth, pretty brown skin as she stood beneath the bright lights inside her uncle's club; he knew right down to the gut of his soul that he wanted her like he had never wanted much of anything else in his entire life before.

Just the thought of being with her caged him like a wild animal in need of being tamed by only one woman who held her name; the thought of taking her, holding her, having her deliciously warm body pressed hard beneath the weight and warmth of his, saying his name in short hard breaths and between soft hiccups of sweet pleasure, crying out that she needed more of him, more of them together as tears streamed her face and she wrapped her arms around his neck and snaked her fingers throughout his hair, while he rocked his giant rod inside her and shed his own tears like a soft as shit motherfucker in knowing that he was finally fucking his way home, was all he could've ever asked for -- all he ever needed; all while never realizing that his own words to River about Mia not that long ago were the exact same words he had always wanted to hear for himself about someone -- hear for himself about her.

The image of her face, mouth and hands gripped his heart like a metal wire, an electric fence. The thought of her thighs wrapping around him on his bike, her fingers digging into his cut while she held onto him with no fear of ever letting go; the exhale in her voice when they reached their final destination and the pricking of his skin as he watched her split her full red lips in two when he made her laugh, were all things he could’ve ever wanted for himself, all things he could’ve ever asked for himself while still breathing and even after it, because that's how long he wanted it; it was how long he needed it.

And it was those things that managed to scare the absolute shit out of him the most because he knew all too well that the consequences of how he was starting to feel about her outside of the physical, and how she was more than likely beginning to feel about him, could bring more than just disaster for his club, and death for himself; it could bring down an entire fucking empire.
